Jergins Tunnel

Jergins Tunnel is a hidden piece of Long Beach history. It was built in 1927 to provide safe pedestrian access to the beach and the Pike. It has been closed to the public since 1967, so I was excited to get the chance to do a Matterport scan of it.

Angels Flight® Railway

This Matterport Space was created on board the Olivet car and around the California Plaza Station House and the Hill Street Arch of the Angels Flight® Railway.

I am grateful to Kim and Richard of Esotouric for making this happen! Read their blog post for more details about this amazing place and our time there.

Chocolate Shop

This remarkable piece of Los Angeles interior architecture is amazing! Located on the ground floor of a building in downtown Los Angles, the original owners commissioned Arts and Crafts tilemaker Ernest Batchelder to create 21 tile murals for the space. The current owner is working to open the space to the public as a restaurant, but in the meantime, you can visit it virtually with my tour!

*Note: I recently changed the name of this tour from “Dutch Chocolate Shop” to “Chocolate Shop” on advice from people who know!

JK’s Tunnel

Way off the beaten track near the LA River, this tunnel features 100 year old hobo carvings by an artist with initials “JK”. Read more about my trip to scan this unique location here. Courtesy of Susan Phillips, Pitzer College, www.graffiti.smugmug.com
